Vitalii Gatseliuk was appointed as a member of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine by the decision of the High Council of Justice dated June 1, 2023.
He holds a scientific degree of a Candidate of Juridical Sciences (2005), and an academic title of Senior Researcher in the specialty 081 “Law” (2022). Mr. Gatseliuk is the author of more than one hundred scientific works in the field of law. He received a state award “Honored Lawyer of Ukraine” (2015).
He has extensive experience as a program manager in the field of legal reforms, good governance and democratization at the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine (2014-2023) and currently continues his research activities as a Senior Researcher at the Department of Issues of Criminal Law, Criminology and Judicial System of the V.M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (part-time).
Vitalii Gatseliuk is a member of the First Chamber and of the Fourth Panel of the Commission, Commission work coordinator in the field of interaction with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and international organizations/international technical assistance projects. He is a Deputy Head of the working group on corruption risk assessment in the activities of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.
